Being somewhat a connoisseur of strap-on play, I have a lot of opinions regarding the equipment. Whether you are a lady purchasing one for yourself(or partner), or a male wishing to gift a strap on harness(and dildo!) to your lady friend, here are some tips on selecting the right one.

First things first: There are two parts to a “strap on”. The harness, and the dildo. You want one in two parts for easy cleaning, comfort, and quality. So don’t ask “how big is your strap on?”. It’s only as ‘big’ as the dildo you choose to wear with it.

There are lots of terrible strap on harnesses out there. Most of the really bad ones look like ugly underwear with a dildo glued on the front, all one peice. These are nonsense and don’t work.

Also, avoid:

Non-Adjustable Elastic Straps – no support.

“Thong” Styling – uncomfortable, not enough support.

Hard to Clean Materials(soft fabrics)

Rubber(unless you’re really into that – Sticks to the skin, uncomfortable.

What you DO want to look for:

Hard-wearing materials like leather, neoprene, nylon, etc. These are also easy to clean. Make sure to use a cleaner appropriate for leather, also!

Jock strap styling. Two straps come through the legs, hugging the bottom on either side. This is much more secure and will prevent the dildo from flopping around.

Metal or hard plastic fasteners/buckles. You want it adjustable between partners, and for comfort. Depending on what position you and your partner are in, you may want the harness tighter or looser, higher or lower.

A piece of material between the base of the dildo and the wearer. This provides comfort. Having a dildo base pressing against the pubic bone is a non-erotic kind of pain. Even better if it’s a bit padded.

Choosing a dildo:

Obviously this is a very personal choice, but for beginners, go smaller rather than larger. Make sure the dildo is smooth(silicone is really the best choice for any penetrative sex toy) and has a flat and wide base that will not slip out of the harness. Straight or a very slight curve tends to be the most comfortable for most people. Also, I tend to prefer longer and thinner to wider and shorter. This doesn’t mean you have to go deep, but you can have a longer stroke option and go as deep as you like.

Per our email provider, the outgoing queue for the server that contact@wickededen.com and snow@wickededen.com is 80% cleared. The clearing of the outbound queue is going slowly because some of the free email services (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, etc.) were intermittently refusing the email servers connection due to the consistently large volume of emails being pushed. The remaining 20% of the outgoing queue will be cleared today.

Due to a secondary problem that was discovered during the server’s issues, all of the email servers that we utilize will be down for scheduled maintenance from 11pm ET tonight until 3am ET tomorrow for approximately four hours of downtime. If you send any of our staff an email during that time, it will be queued on the front end proxy servers and delivered as soon as the corresponding email server for that email account is back online. No email will be lost.

As of 1:13pm ET, our hosted Exchange provider has rectified the serious issues (turns out there was more than one) with the server that hosts contact@wickededen.com and snow@wickededen.com. They are slowly flushing the outgoing (sending) email queue as of 2:00pm ET. Based on the number of queued outgoing emails for all users on the server, our hosted Exchange provider is estimating that it will take up to thirty-six hours for all emails to be transmitted. However, they are processing/releasing the queue in date/time sequence (ignoring priority flags), which will will eliminate out of sequence emails.

Our email provider will be notifying us once the outgoing queue has been cleared. We will post a final update then. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Due to a serious issue with one of the six email servers that we utilize, our hosted Exchange (email) provider is strenuously limiting activity on that email server. Specifically, they are stopping all outgoing emails for that server as they are being stored on the outgoing server queue to be transmitted as soon as the issue has been resolved; however, they are allowing all incoming emails to be delivered so we aren’t blind, but we are somewhat mute. We have had multiple ETAs for resolution and none of them have been met, although they are now being realistic and estimating that full, normal service won’t be resumed until late Monday (October 10th).

Once service has been fully restrored on the affected email server, emails will be flushed (sent) from the queue as quickly as sending rate limits allow. If more than one email was sent to the same person, this massive email flush may cause emails to be received out of order.

This partial outage only affects contact@wickededen.com and snow@wickededen.com as both are stored on the affected server. All other Wicked Edem email addresses are located on other servers, so none of them are affected whatsoever.

As a temporary workaround for critical emails, we are sending some emails through wickededen@yahoo.com with a carbon copy to contact@wickededen.com. If as a temporary measure you receive an email from wickededen@yahoo.com, please reply to contact@wickededen.com.
