Coach Woes
Today, Master Damiano and I met with one of the newest staff members to finalize things. Not wanting to miss out on the nice weather, we decided to meet at Easton instead of at the studio. The meeting went well and I decided to pop over to a few stores while he and she were wrapping up details.

First came the adjustment of my newly repaired Oakley sunglasses. As some of you may remember, my beautiful shades were smashed by the errant hoof of a family horse on a visit to the family in Texas. I had them sent off for parts replacement, but they came back with a poorly fitting screw. Rather than waste another 6 weeks of shipping and handling, I decided to make use of my favorite Gorilla Glue and epoxy the arm back on. It was a tricky process, but I finally flirted enough with the manager of Sunglasses Hut to get her to adjust my out-of-warranty glasses. Success! Here’s a little memoir of me in my glasses from my trip to Miami a couple of years ago. —>
I had received a very lovely gift last week of a adorable Coach wallet in Coach’s new “Op Art” style. It looked very much like this:

I was all stoked to get the matching purse because I genuinely liked the pattern. So I ducked into the Coach store and came up empty-handed. Apparently this pattern was only available for a limited time, and the only bags still available in the pattern were ones I didn’t like (and would have to be special ordered). See this one? This is what I wanted…

Did they have it? Nope, no way. Not even on the Coach website any more! So I tried Nordstrom and Macy’s, all without luck. I was very dissapointed by Nordstrom’s selection of Coach (although I was distracted by some Marc Jacobs…), and Macy’s stuff was very dated. At the Coach store, I was shown several bags that I wad rather unimpressed with. Apparently Coach is trying a new leather-like fabric that is very cheap in appearance. It looks and feels like a Coach knockoff you’d purchase in Chinatown!
I will admit that I was a bit taken with the new Cricket bag, but they didn’t have the lovely pink or silver that would make it a necessary purchase. After all, I already have a dozen black purses… but my gorgeous custom pink leather tote was damaged beyond repair.
Sigh. Perhaps I’ll order it online.
